Incredibly warm host, Sarah, who welcomed us upon arrival. Beautiful swimming pool. Tiny balcony looked out on orange groves and distant hills - gorgeous! And the breakfast was the best we’ve had in Portugal - and we’ve had some 5 star hotels. It was carefully curated and beautifully presented - in the orange grove no less 😄

Loads of interesting history and some amazing locations to visit. Everywhere was walking distance, although some may find some of the inclines a little challenging. Ubers are plenty, cheap and the drivers are very professional and friendly.
Indeed everyone there was, in my experience, friendly and welcoming and very helpful. I always felt very welcome and at ease.
The restaurants and bars were great - the food and drink (especially the rose wine and port), was exceptional.
Just one word of warning - the mosquitoes (certainly in April) were voracious and vicious. Take some repellant with you, along with your favourite antihistamine if you are sensitive to insect bites.

Silves is a pretty and traditional Portugeese town with history and architecture and facilities for the tourist. It is a good place to visit. The deserted and boarded up trainstation looks like something out of an old western. Taking the train in the Algarve is great, but sad that the people let their trainstations decay. This is an otherwise great inroad to Silves but two kilometers from town. A geographical oddity.

I am spending three months in Portugal, travelling around, and Silves is one of my favourite finds. I loved all the storks and their nests, the castle on the top of the hill, and the abundance of nature. Our favourite restaurant was Cafe Ingles near the castle where we had a late dinner. There is a coffee shop, Ana & Joana, in a corner by the castle, which served amazing upside down orange cake. The owner was very kind and accommodating and made the visit memorable.
We walked most of the time and found it easy to get around. When we were looking for the museum, I stepped into an art shop and the owner came out on the street to point me in the right direction.

Silves had a small, walkable, historic downtown area.
Silves had a small, walkable, historic downtown area. We stayed close to the historic area so we walked to coffee shops, the park and shopping. We had dinner at four different restaurants for our four nights in Silves but unfortunately none of them was a dinner that I would say was fabulous. We went up to the castle but there was a sign on the door saying "STRIKE" so it was closed. It is a wonderful location to stay if you are visiting the Algarve because it is centrally located.

As every review this villa is a must !!!
As every review this villa is a must !!!spotless inside and out plenty of loungers umbrellas around the pool. Fantastic eating area inside and out. Every possible utensil you would need. Check in and out so easy with such helpful owners. We were a family of 7. 5 adults and 2 children. The kids refused to go to the water park or the beach as they loved being in the pool from morning till night. All toiletries were on all bathrooms along with plenty of toilet rolls. Plenty of towels. Will we be back I really hope so. Thank you Joseph and your son Joseph for our wonderful welcome and our complimentary bottle of port and water. You do yourselves proud . Keep up the good work you put into your beautiful villa and thank you for allowing us to share special family time .

Great garden, very secure for our dog.
Great garden, very secure for our dog.
Not in Silves, about 10 minutes by car to the local village Sao Marcos which has bars and mini markets. Lovely walks all around.
No TV or washing machine. All condiments provided as well as providing us with bottles of wine and water when we arrived
This is quite a small and ‘enclosed’ property with no real outside space but it is a very traditional property right in the centre of Silves. Such a beautiful place to experience Silves and perfectly equipped for our stay. A small bath with a lovely shower, comfortable bed and views to the front. Taking into account the excellent value…we absolutely loved everything about it. Sylvie was very welcoming and communication was very good.
The hotel is located right in the centre of Silves a beautiful historic town. Despite this it is very quiet and I heard no noise from other guests. My room was extremelly spacious. I was given a lovely bottle of wine and water provided every day. Breakfast is downstairs in the restaurant and was delicious yogourt, museli and honey and fruit, fresh orange juice, hot beverage and eggs with fresh bread and jams. Wonderful!
Don't hesitate to stay at this lovely and lovingly cared for small hotel in such a beautiful part of Portugal. The hosts live on site and take care with every detail. The landscaping is beautiful and natural and abundant with an intermix of plants - we picked and ate a pomegranate! Bedrooms and bathrooms are lovely - beds and sheets quite nice, beautiful private view out the sliding doors. So many thoughtful details.
Loved the pool, the games room, the outdoor kitchen. Rooms were big and stayed cool.
Short drive to a lovely beach and a water park.
Silves had great restaurants and a big supermarket with everything we needed.
Rita and Jose were very friendly and gave us their numbers in case we needed anything. Were flexible when we realised we had to check out earlier than we originally thought.
The layout and architecture! We very much enjoyed the privacy and the small pool and having a nice dining and breakfast space outside. The design was fantastic!
The location inside Silves was great with walking distance to restaurants and food (supermarket and market)
Our host was great, communicated excellently and provided lots of helpful hints.
Lovely small hotel, absolutely spotless clean and fresh room. Good, comfy bed and air con. Great breakfast and presentation, you get your breakfast served to your table from the most nicest owner couple! And your special request for gluten free is also noticed! Thank you, we enjoyed our visit. Also went for a cooling swim! Lovely garden and view!
This is a great house! Comfortably appointed, excellent kitchen, amazing roof terrace. Peter was there to show us how everything worked and it was nice knowing he wasn’t far away if we needed help with anything (we didn’t). The location makes for easy sightseeing and dining in Silves. Plenty of on street parking right around the house.

Lots of space in the villa, great for a couple of families.
Well-appointed villa with plenty of facilities, especially the kitchen.
Conveniently located for Silves with excellent restaurants and supermarkets.
Catarina and Tiago are very responsive and helpful hosts.
Property was spacious and well stocked. outdoor areas were lovely. The on site washer was a nice surprise. Silves was a great base for exploring the Algarve. while not on the coast, the town was quiet amd full of Medieval charm.
Extremely pleasant stay in Silves. Hosts were friendly, willing to help with everything. I was travelling with my mother who really enjoyed the stay and praised the accommodation. We will visit again some time!
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend
