The location !! and the interior downstairs was very bright and inviting.
Nice to have A/C because when the windows are open it gets pretty noisy at night.

Spacious and well appointed room.
Sound proofing was appreciated as there was a very noisy carnival on the market square.

Lovely lively city with good places to eat and drink. Everything is very central and it is easily accessible by train from Schipol Airport. I felt safe there. Check out The Forum.. fabulous panoramic view of the city.

Groningen is a bit of a hidden gem in The Netherlands.
Groningen is a bit of a hidden gem in The Netherlands. Pretty much like a small scale Amsterdam, but in a positive sense. I very much appreciate the abundance of small designer shops and outlets. The Museum at the Station is a jewel of 80ies architecture.

A gorgeous small Dutch city that is really easy to walk around. Beautiful architecture and canals, many amazing restaurants and cosy coffee shops.
The forum is a must-visit with incredible views in good and bad weather. The restaurant at the top of it has great views and lovely cake, drinks, snacks and food. The library inside the forum is impressive. If you have time visit the Martini church - the church has an incredible collection of art of the artist Edgar Modderman that is worth visiting.
Best meal: The tastermenu at Pachamama serving Japanese-South American fusion food: this was a sense explosion. Every single mouthful was exquisite.
My favourite tourist gift was the peanutbutter from the depindakaaswinkel, especially the stroopwafel kaneel flavoured one.

Lovely city - a very young atmosphere as the university is huge so it has a studenty vibe as well as that settled dutch feel. Beautiful buildings and loads of shops and restuarants for all tastes and budgets. I did not have time to explore the surroundings but there seemed some very interesting things to do. The art museum is really good - very modern and inclusive, with an interesting approach to displaying its treasures. I loved the Forum - a very modern library, community space, cafe, exhibition space. It was vibrant, an exciting piece of modern architecture inside and out - flooded with light and great views - and very much part of the community, well used by locals.

The one-bedroom apartment on the first floor was lovely - really comfortable with high quality furnishings, excellent shower and good kitchen area. The bed was really comfortable and the apartment had everything we needed for a one-week stay in Groningen.. It was 5 minutes' walk from the railway station and a couple of minutes' walk in to the city centre. Groningen is a fantastic city with lots of great museums, restaurants and things to see - and for running fans, a Parkrun!
